SchwartzenWatcher Watches What's Up For the New Year

Slowly and surely, our Governator is letting loose with his plans for the upcoming year, most of which came in an interview on "Meet Tim Russert." And let's just say Schwarzenegger is feeling a little cocky in light of his electoral stomping and all of the love thrown his way by the Democrats in the Assembly. So much so, he's getting flack from his fellow Republicans.

schwarzeneggermeetthepress.jpgFirst up, health care where he's talking about a way of making sure all 26 million Californians will be covered. Oh, and he's going to do it without raising taxes and while facing at least five billion in deficits. You know, if he pulled that off, David Blaine would have nothing on him. In fact, maybe he could do all this while submerged in a huge tank in Sacramento because if David Blaine could make millions doing this, Arnie just might be able to raise enough money to pay for all this. He's also talking about "incentivising" healthy behavior by encouraging people not to be fat slobs.

Now Schwarzy has pretty much vetoed every other proposal come his way, saying that government shouldn't be involved in health care. But that was then and this is now and if only he could blast himself back in time to sign that sucker again and maybe fend off the killer robots we'd be in the clover. As it is, he says he's been meeting with experts and aids for state legislators to come up with his barely made up plan.

Also on the agenda is redrawing the state's political map to bring an end to gerrymandering. This was one of his issues when he put together his Very Special Election but was shot down along with all of his other ideas. It was then given to the state assembly to debate and they did nothing on the issue. So if you don't succeed and then don't succeed again, try, try again.

Finally, he's also talking about prison reform to try and do something about prison overcrowding and the state of the state prisons. This should also be a lot of fun as he's up against the powerful prison guard lobby. Maybe he could go back in time too and stop the union from organizing.

Yeah his idea of driving down the costs of health is on the backs of the laborers and client care. I make 10.65 an hour providing home care through the IHSS. less than a livable wage here in San Francisco. To top that my hours are limited to 44.6 a month for client that needs that much care in a week. Minus the 28.00 bucks the UHW gets and taxes. Not paying rent with this. Time to by food, cause that is all that I can do with whats left over.
