Who's Attacking Newsom Now!

gavstill.JPGIt's our new occasional column, about the trials and tribulations facing Mayor Gav! So.... who's attacking Newsom now????

--...CBS 5!: KPIX aired a segment (video) detailing all of Newsom's recent woes. The clip includes an interview with Art Bruzzone about how Gavin's busy delegating everything to other people but doesn't actually know what's going on, a quizzical eye about Gavin's professed ambivalence about running for reelection, and footage of Gavin complaining about the excessive focus on his gel-up gel-down hairstyles and Brittanie Mountz.

--The York Family!: The owners of the Niners tell the Chron that they were consistently frustrated with the "tedious and policitized" negotiating process with the City for their stadium -- in particular, they were upset by Newsom's perceived lack of involvement in the process and his lack of communication with them. In response to Newsom's statements that he was baffled and surprised by their termination of talks, a Niners spokeswoman responded, "We're baffled and surprised that he's baffled and surprised." SFist Jon'll probably discuss this article in greater depth later, but -- ouch!

--Art Agnos!: He might run for mayor against Gavin next year.

--Low-Income Housing Advocates!: A social worker with the Homeless Advocacy Project says she hasn't seen any evidence (statistical or anecdotal) supporting Gavin Newsom's claims to have rehoused 95% of the formerly-homeless, and reports that she's seen high eviction rates among Care Not Cash housing recipients. She urges that someone conduct an audit of the numbers.

--and Gwen Knapp!: The Chron's sports writer blames Gavin for losing the Olympics bid and the Castro Halloween shootings. Wow -- Gwen Knapp usually loves everyone.

I read and read,
but I am hard pressed to see,
any thing slanderous to any.

When something stinks,
we place it into ink.

Why not with foes,
like Joe.

To offend,
There is no end,
to append.

If Joe
must go,

Then maybe the the freedom of speech,
should go,
also.

The only thing that I see that is tripe,
is with all the gripe.

No matter whom we don't please,
they still want all the pea's.

Is it wrong,
to be strong?

Only if you write an ode,
and your name is Joe,
O'O'Donoghue
who may have or have not voted Blue.

When all is forgiven,
then we can go on liven.
