We're back from our two-day vacation from the site with your Day Around The Bay, as SFist Jon continues to struggle with his DSL.

--Children meet cows.

--After a mysterious price rise last week that was unsupported by the economic fundamentals, gas prices have now dropped again. Did something happen last week?

--The club Mingles in Jack London Square is closing down permanently after the death of a pregnant woman in a shooting last weekend.

--Margaret Cho has joined the board of directors for Good Vibrations. We thought they were a collective!

--Yet another fire in SF caused by a PG&E explosion.

--The Valleywag editor is out. (old news, we know, but it was new to us!)

--The SF school board kills off JROTC, and ended up withdrawing the proposal to use race in school assignments again.

--The updated (and probably final) vote counts are in after counting the provisional ballots: Daly 48.5% (8,027), Black 40.18% (6,649) in District 6 and Ed Jew in first in D4. No results back yet in the write-in candidacy for District 2, though. Older numbers here.

--Hey, are you anti-Dalys interested in organizing with Mr. TenderNob to improve the district? Also, Rob Black is going back to his old job with Michela Alioto-Pier.

Hey, don't turn left off Geary. Picture by SFist Jim Herd.
