First, the East Bay: The New Yorker College Tour presents on-campus programs and evening entertainment at UC Berkeley at Wheeler Auditorium (near Bancroft and Telegraph Ave.), including a preview screening of Tenacious D in The Pick of Destiny, starring Jack Black and Kyle Gass. (9pm)

In SF: Silent Theatre Company presents a Louise Brooks Birthday Bash at the Victoria Theater (2961 16th Street) with a screening, live music, birthday cake, and festivities, followed by a 10 pm performance of Lulu, a play based on the silent film, Pandora's Box, which starred Louise Brooks and gave her a reputation as an actress of loose morals. The film was based on Frank Wedekind's play of the same name, that centered around a beautiful vixen called Lulu. Her beauty is as enchanting as it is damned. Men and women fall for her, leading to betrayal, jealousy, murder, and Lulu's eventual death. Festivities start at 7pm.

Rhodes & Fletcher, LLC presents “What The IRS Doesn’t Want You To Know!” a Tax Update Seminar and Art Exhibit/Wine and Cheese Reception in the 12th Floor Classroom of The Merchant’s Exchange Building 465 California Street (between Sansome and Montgomery). Learn about new tax law changes, new and tried-and-true tax reduction strategies and juicy IRS gossip. Plus, an art reception for “Brilliant Deductions,” an exhibit by Bay Area Artists who employ a process of removing elements to create the object, curated by Sean Fletcher. (6pm) Attendees will not be admitted without prior reservation. Please call (415) 362-8636, or email info@rhodesfletcher.com to reserve your seating for this event.
