SFist Tonight - Instant Run-off Entertainment

We don't know about you, but we are a bit drained from the excitement of last night's election and constantly "refreshing results" while our better half patiently indulged us. It is this sort of compulsive behavior that led us to swear off ebay. But we digress.
We're feeling like some instant gratification tonight, and this event should fit the bill. YLEM presents “How Techies Have Fun," a show and tell featuring moving light sculptures, a digital lava lamp, glowing necklaces, a digital clock that’s a puzzle, and computer prints on silk. Be fascinated by the bright, shiny objects at RX Gallery (132 Eddy St at Mason) between 8 and 11pm.
On the glitz and people-watching front, you can't miss with Film Arts Foundation's 30th Anniversary Celebration at the Castro Theater (429 Castro). Considering Mayor "short coattails" Newsom's fondness for actresses, it's no surprise that he's on the Host Committee. There's a pre-program Donor Reception with tapas and music by the Marcus Shelby Trio, which is probably the best opportunity to snap candid photos of the well-known. There's also a screening of one minute movies and other surprises. (Reception starts at 6:30pm, screening at 8pm)
Inspired by the election to be more politically or charitable active? The Volunteer Center, Craigslist Foundation and the Bay Area Corporate Volunteer Council present The Board Match at YBCA (701 Mission St. @ 3rd). Survey a wide array of non-profits looking for board members at this job-fair, convention-like event. Bring business cards and resumes. (5 - 7:30pm)
And, as part of the new bipartisanship, and our unquenchable desire for your pictures, send us your cat photos and we'll use them to illustrate our posts!

totally off topic and against good comment rules, but 49ers might leave SF? ex-squeeze me?
