Everything Else Results
SFist Jon's having computer woes, so we're covering all the rest of the races here too.
National
They called the race for Feinstein like 5 minutes after the polls closed in California. Pelosi is not only going to win, she's going to be the next Speaker of the House! Let's hope she'll bring home some pork for the Bay Area!
In the other race everyone's watching, Republican Richard Pombo over in Tracy is trailing McNerney, slightly.
Update: McNerney wins!
Other races, the Democrats are winning nicely. Yes to Lantos, yes to Barbara Lee, yes to Pete Stark.
Local (we're too depressed to do State just yet)
San Francisco first, because we live here.
Something other than District 6? No! Unopposed Phil Ting and Jeff Adachi win. District 2: Michela Alioto-Pier winning with 80%, doesn't look like they've done the write-in count yet. District 4: Dudum, Jew, Mak, Chan. RCV, here we come. District 8: Dufty at 65%. District 10: Sophie Maxwell with 55%.
School board: Jane Kim, Hydra Mendoza, Kim-Shree Maufas.
Propositions: Question Time is winning! WE'RE SO EXCITED!!!! Everything else is winning too, except for the parking tax. You voted to give Gavin Newsom a raise? (And impeach Bush and Cheney!)
Other localities, plus the state races, after the jump.
Oakland City Council: Kernighan is leading Allison 57-43, with 53% in.
Oakland Prop O: Runoff voting's in the lead -- ironically, with over 50% of the vote (68%).
Berkeley mayor: Tom Bates with 63%, 14% of the vote in.
Berkeley City Council: Linda Maio, the wife of the parking officer shover, with 77%, 8% of the vote in.
Alameda mayor: Beverly Johnson, 53%, 25% in.
San Jose mayor: They've called it for Reed, 64-36 over Chavez.
Santa Clara DA: Carr over Sinunu, 62-38, 43% in.
State:
Okay, here we go. Arnold wins. Only about 37% of the vote is counted, but it's really close between Garamendi (D) and McClintock (R) for Lieutenant Governor, McClintock is up 1%, 47-46. Sec of State, McPherson (R) is leading Bowen (D) 48-45. Chiang (D) is leading for controller, and they've called treasurer and attorney general for Lockyer and Jerry Brown.
Update: Garamendi and Bowen are now leading. The state races always flip around. Thanks, LA County! Cruz Bustamante lost for insurance commish -- more time to diet now, we guess.
On the propositions: Well, it's good that the Democrats will have something to be glum about -- most of the propositions are going the wrong way for them. With about 47% in, the bonds are passing (they haven't called the school bond, though), we're GPSing sex offenders (called), and we're not getting campaign finance reform (called). No on mandatory parental notification for abortion is still ahead (53% no) and No on 90 (eminent domain) is leading but close (51.5%), but the cigarette and gas taxes look like they're going to lose.
Update: No on parental notification is still ahead, No on 90 is still ahead. Cigarette and gas taxes lose, along with the education tax thing (86-88).

Good question. Why did people vote for the raise? I am from San Jose but I have been following the San Francisco races a bit since I read this blog. I know that the proposition was not just to give the mayor a raise but other city officials as well, right? Did people really think that these city officials weren't making enough already or was there some other part of this proposition that was appealing?
Oakland votes itself out of the stone ages, Instant Runoff Voting a success!!

Take a moment, and help convince Nancy Pelosi to Impeach..
The day the nation demands impeachment is upon us. Sacks and sacks of mail are about to arrive in Nancy Pelosi's office initiating impeachment via the House of Representative's own rules. This legal document is as binding as if a State or if the House itself passed the impeachment resolution (H.R. 635).
There's a little known and rarely used clause of the "Jefferson Manual" in the rules for the House of Representatives which sets forth the various ways in which a president can be impeached. Only the House Judiciary Committee puts together the Articles of Impeachment, but before that happens, someone has to initiate the process.
That's where we come in. In addition to a House Resolution (635), or the State-by-State method, one of the ways to get impeachment going is for individual citizens like you and me to submit a memorial. ImpeachforPeace.org has created a new memorial based on one which was successful in impeaching a federal official in the past. You can find it on their website as a PDF.
You can initiate the impeachment process and simultaneously help to convince Pelosi to follow through with the process. Do-It-Yourself by downloading the memorial, filling in the relevant information in the blanks (your name, state, etc.), and sending it in. Be a part of history.
