Seamus, If you know anything at all about SF politics (which you obviously don't), the local Rethugs don't run Rethug candidates. There's no point to it - its a useless exercise. Instead they support the pro-business, as far right as they possibly can find in SF, Democratic candidate. Thus, the Rethug support for Rob Black. For Michela "Vote for Me Because I'm Disabled" Alioto-Pier. For Dufty (although in this case, Alix is a bit of a loon, so I can understand that one.) For Gavin.

the question of whether or not he was working at all on the campaign was never clarified for me. From the Left in SF board, I understood that he was not RUNNING the campaign, nor was he there at the request of anyone - but I wouldn't presume to call anyone else's actions stupid. I was just curious. To me, add some glasses on Robert and there is some resemblance, although I probably wouldn't think so if I knew both the gentlemen in question personally.

That's not Robert. It's a Daly volunteer named Andy. Even if Robert were lying about working on the Daly campaign--which he is not--do you really think he'd be stupid enough to be on a video in Daly headquarters? I assure you he's not.

Nope, Halland wasn't there last night. I've been spending a lot of time at Daly headquarters, and I don't think I've seen him there. But I like how there's this budding mythology about him like he's some election-shifting juggernaut.

From the POV of person who is at the Daly HQ more or less every day since the day it opened its doors, I can say with 100% certainty that Robert Haaland has been in here a total of two times. He is not working for the Daly campaign in any capacity.

What do you expect - the Sentinel is a conservative, Establishment shill. They've got 5 year olds in Pakistan making drool for them for the amount they regularly slather over Gavin's balls. Personally, I find it funny - and oh so indicative of the shallowness of many in SF - that if the Gav-ster wasn't Mr. Good Looking Rich Bachelor and instead looked like every other schlub politician, he'd have long ago been ridden out of town with a 30% approval rating for having accomplished zilch as Mayor.

ok, so was that guy Robert Haaland who is unequivocably not running, not lent out to and not reccomended to work on the Daly campaign by his union? Cuz you know, he never said he was working on it, just that he unequivocably wasn't lent out or running it.
