Everybody Hates Chris: The District 6 Election
Only one more day until... the District 6 election! (And thank God for that.) This week's episode: Everybody Hates The Last Day!
Daly supporter and video savant DiggaSlidwell forwards along his latest magnum opus, a comparison between the Daly HQ and the Black HQ last night. This is in response to Pat Murphy's Sentinel story that Gavin Newsom said the Black campaign was the most exciting he'd seen. One might argue in response it's not a good sign that one candidate's people are worried enough that they're working around the clock two nights before the election -- but the Dalyheads do look like they're having fun!
Another issue that's come up is that Daly claims to have 6000 votes locked up, and Black claims to have 7000. Left in SF, however, notes that 13,000 exceeds the number of voters in D6. Either there's a math problem, or -- vote early and often, folks! No wonder the feds are monitoring tomorrow's election.
Stay tuned to this space as Nov. 6 news breaks in District 6! (Updates after the jump -- now three!)
--M&R report that the Golden Gate Restaurant Association has spent $130,000 on its latest anti-Daly ad blitz. The GGRA says they hate Daly because he called their former president "a bitch" at a BoS meeting. Daly says the GGRA hates him because he votes to support low-wage workers, and besides, he doesn't remember calling the president that. We were hoping he'd go with, "...but that sounds like something I might have said."
--New update! Gavin Newsom voted early today, with Doug Chan and Rob Black. Here's the Chron's take, from their new Local News blog:
Newsom said Daly's supporters can be "insulting, obnoxious and rude" and that their tactics remind him of the campaign Matt Gonzalez waged against him for mayor three year ago. "It's very reminiscent," he said.
--Next update! Someone got a picture of the incredibly disgusting anti-Daly ad they're talking about on SFJunto. We're not running the picture. Who thought it was a good idea to link the idea of "Vote Rob Black" with a picture of feces? [Your answer, from Fog City Journal: Ryan Chamberlain of the SFSOS.]
