SFist Tonight - More Halloweenish Entertainment

For 10 years and counting Microcinema International has been distributing, presenting, and touring independent film and video. Originally based in Seattle, Microcinema is quickly becoming an SF institution. Tonight, as part of its Independent Exposure series, Microcinema presents its annual Halloweird program at 111 Minna (111 Minna St. at 2nd). This year's features 12 weird, creepy, gross, odd and strange shorts made by moving image artists from around the world. From popping out eyeballs in Pretty Kitty to bizarre animations from Italy, the Netherlands and the United States to a documentary about an architect who uses insects as a source of inspiration when designing homes. (8pm)

More local film fun goes down at Zeitgeist (199 Valencia @ Duboce), presented by Cecil B Feeder Productions,it's a screening of the Tamale Lady documentary and Meter Maid Me Mad a schlocky gorefest with zombie DPT meter maids. (movies at 9pm)

In Berkeley, the Judah L Magnes Museum and UC Berkeley's Art, Technology, and Culture Colloquium presents artist Jonathon Keats chatting about "Extraterrestrial Aesthetics, Divine Genetics, and Other Thought Experiments," and his current exhibition at the Magnes, The First Intergalactic Art Exposition. This partner program takes place at the Center for New Media, 105 North Gate Hall, UC Berkeley Campus, between Hearst and Euclid. (7:30 pm)
