Chocolate. Yummy, Yummy Charles Chocolates

Let's get this right out of the way first-- we are not sweet snacks people. We are salty snack people-- cool ranch Doritos is our crack. But thrown together with tea, now that's something else.

SFist braved a visit to Emeryville to check out the happenings at Charles Chocolates. There we learned a bit about tea, a bit about chocolate, and a whole lot about how the two combined can be pretty darn tasty.

The main reason for the occasion was to help get the word out about Charles Chocolates teaming with Teance Fine Tea. The new Teance Fine Tea will be moving to a new location in Berkeley and when the new store opens, they will be working together to create not just new types of chocolate, but to show how one can work with the other. Some teas help bring out the flavor of the chocolates and some of the chocolates help bring out the tea. Either way, it was all good.

More pictures after the jump...

IMG_0127.JPGCharles Chocolates just created this chocolate to be sold at Teance. The chocolate, made by hand, is plain chocolate but when tea is added to the cream, takes on the flavor of the tea. The white covering is also tea and the slik screen calligraphy on top signifys the tea. This particular tea is jasmine.

In all honesty, we can't remember whether it was the cabernet infused fruit or the chardonnay infused fruit or the champagne infused fruit (we, as you might have noticed, know nothing about wines). Either way, they were yummy.

Mmmm....edible boxes.... Seriously, the boxes are edible.

Sadly, we saw no Oompa Loompas who worked there.

We think this pretty much sums it up.
