-Gavin's staff and political team sure thinks he's running.

-Al goes to Berkeley to campaign for proposition 87, the tax the gas prop.

-Residents sue UCSC for proposed plan to add new students. Won't somebody think of the habitat?

-State leaders converge to stop gang violence.

-Punks pummel Piedmont pumpkin patch.

-And finally, today is Stoney Day. And no, we don't mean it's a day to do bong hits, put on the tie-dye and listen to early Floyd. It's a day to honor Stoney Burke. As in "who?" Stoney, according to the proclamation is, a "clown, " street activist," and "street performer" and no, those things aren't mutually exclusive. As the proclamation says "everybody loves a clown." Apparently, he hangs out in plazas and makes comments about world events and has been arrested dozens of times for being a nuisance expressing his views. Your Board of Supervisor behind the proclamation? Gerardo Sandoval. Between proclaiming this as "Stoney Day" and his proclaiming a day for Jerry Garcia, Sandoval's appearance on Hannity and that Other Guy's show where he said the U.S. doen't need an army suddenly makes a whole lot more sense.
