Your Commute: Friday Woes
Expect a snarled commute today: three cars and two trucks mixed it up on southbound 101 near 22nd Street at 2:19 p.m.. Only minor injuries, but Officer Cakebread of the CHP (awesome name) says there's no ETA on how long it'll take to clear the highway. That means more time with you and the light hits on KOIT.
Officer Cakebread is all over the news today -- earlier, he came to our attention when he was reporting that a sideswiped moving van flipped over on the westbound lanes of Highway 92 right by the 101 onramp at 11:00 a.m. this morning. Busy day, Mr. Cakebread!
The Powell-Hyde cable cars are running again after being replaced by shuttle buses this morning. Some unspecified "problem" came up.
And we just checked on the SFGate traffic report (while looking for a picture to use for this post), and can also report: a stall on the Bay Bridge; two accidents on S 101, one by San Antonio in Mountain View and one by Willow Road; two accidents on N 101, one near San Carlos and one near San Mateo (are those two separate accidents?); and one accident on 280 N by Woodside. Please don't let a Caltrain hit someone on the train ride home today too. [We haven't heard of any MUNI delays.... yet.]
