Day Around the Bay

-We went to Oktoberfest yesterday and went with friends to have some dinner at the Round Table near the Marina Safeway. Our dinner was quickly ruined as a couple of guys in lederhosen got into a knock-down, drag out fight, knocking over tables and glasses and spilling stuff everywhere. In lederhosen. Have you ever seen people in lederhosen fight? It's not exactly something that brings the macho. And neither is the biting of fingers of people trying to break them up, like our friends'.

-Tarantulas run amok on Mt. Diablo!

-Threatening graffiti seen at arts school.

-Meet the new dot.com boom, not the same as the old dot.com boom. But they always say that.

-Panel at Stanford says don't worry about North Korean, terrorism, Iraq-- worry about a pandemic.

-Students at Starr King Elementary School learn Mandarin instead of Spanish.

-Cal wins, Stanford doesn't but your big Bay Area power these days just might be your San Jose Spartans who won again and are now 4-1.

To help support these activities a 2nd Annual Harvest Festival will be held on October 27th, 2006 at the McKinley elementary school's lower yard (1024 14th street) at 6:30-9:30pm.
