Well, we're pleased as punch to say that someone has risen to our challenge! Look how more regressive Matt looks! You can practically see him chasing the homeless out of San Francisco now, can't you? (Here's some pictures of Matt in his regular progressive happy-go-lucky guise.)
This seems as good a segue as any to pass along the Chron's numbers on preliminary polling on a possible mayor's race in 2007: Gavin is leading with 61%, and Matt has 15%. Jeff Adachi has 5%, and Tony Hall, Chris Daly, Ross Mirkarimi, and Aaron Peskin all have less than 3%. (For the record, Adachi brushes his hair back.)
Gavin says he hasn't decided one way or the other if he's going to run again, saying he needs to feel "intense passion" to do it again because "otherwise, [being mayor] is truly the worst job in the United States of America." You mean, because people like us talk incessantly about your hair and your dating choices? Then again, would you be dating nearly as much if you weren't the mayor in the first place? It's a toss-up, for sure.
A big dollop of gel for our tipster, who informs us that he only got the picture because Matt's hair was wet at the time. Thanks, Chief!
