Aw, just relax. They'll move back home or die soon enough. If you want to stop them from coming, burn down the Haight and turn GG Park into a mall.

Seems kind of cruel to throw the bums out of the city so here's one solution: Build a permanent mini movie studio in one part of the park and have the bums move there. They could then supply authentic "bums in a city" film clip for news, movies, TV shows etc. We don't even have to supply them with costumes...

I live in the upper haight and spend a lot of time in the panhandle with my pup. I would like to see less of the gutter punks as would most of my nieghbors. But I wonder, instead of pushing them away, is there something we can do to prevent chronic homelessness? Or is this a problem that will never go away as it seems to be almost a "rite of passage" for some of these kids? Like, they do it just so that one day they will be able to say that they lived homeless in the Haight Ashbury.
