Everybody Hates Chris: The District 6 Election
It's our column about the struggle for supremacy over the realm they call..... District 6. This week's episode: Everybody Hates A Rally.
Both Chris Daly and Rob Black threw kickoff parties for their Board of Supes campaigns last Saturday. Reports (and pictures) from the field after the jump!

Here's Daly's pals! Look at those three past SF Board of Supervisors presidents (representing 10 years of history), all there to support Chris Daly! Just like The Three Tenors, only not fat.

Daly's crowded rally, at his Mission and 16th Street HQ, was a star-studded event (for SF political junkies, anyways), with not only the three tenors, but almost enough Supervisors for a quorum -- though Ross Mirkarimi was late, and Gerardo Sandoval wandered outside with his kids right before he was supposed to give his speech. The other progressives in the house included, among others, PD Jeff Adachi, DCCC rep Robert Haaland, other boldface name folks running local political groups, a rep from the City Attorney's office, school board aspirants, Congressional candidate Krissy Keefer, housing advocates and their clients, and photographer Luke Thomas from the launching-next-week Fog City Journal.
And how was Rob Black's event?

Here's AntFaber's summary, off the SFJunto.chatboard:
His campaign office is in the Plumbers & Pipefitters union on Market (I wonder if that has anything to do with their desire to tear down the Civic Center Hotel & build condos?) and about 50 people showed. I only recognized a few from other places. David Villa-Lobos & Ed Evans from the TL, Jason Born from Weat SOMA, the treasurer of the North Mission Neighborhood Alliance, & Jordanna Thigpen. Luke Thomas was covering it for his forthcoming blog, whose name I forget. Mike Sullivan from Plan C & Ryan Chamberlin from SFSOS were there to interfere in the soverign affairs of another district. I hope that the other folks I didn't recognize are neighborhood people who just haven't been involved before & not carpet baggers.
Aw, Black couldn't get any anti-Daly supervisors to show? Michela Alioto-Pier didn't even show up for her own aide's kickoff? And don't tell us Bevan Dufty was recovering from his Drunk-N-Horny hangover and missed Black's early Saturday time!
At least Luke Thomas made it to both events -- that guy's the hardest working man in the biz.
