--The SF DA's office is dropping the murder charge against the man SFPD arrested for the murder in the middle of the day at the Ella Mae Hutch community center back in March. This is the second murder case they've dropped for lack of evidence; look for the finger-pointing to begin shortly.

--A Global Exchange employee wearing a t-shirt that said "We Will Not Be Silent" in English and Arabic was denied entry onto an Oakland-bound Jet Blue flight in NYC on August 12 (2 days after the UK scare). He was reportedly told, "Going to an airport with a T-shirt in Arabic script is like going to a bank and wearing a T-shirt that says, 'I'm a robber.'" He ended up on the flight after putting on another t-shirt on over it, but ended up losing his original seat for one in the back. Hey, all seats get the same 40 DirecTV channels, we hear.

--and the president of Cal's Pi Lambda Phi fraternity has complained that overly-zealous undercover cops tried to bust into their rush party by falsely claiming to be with Gamma, the Greek system's watchdog group. The president of Delta Chi says he's fine with it, but wonders why the cops are policing his barbecues so closely anyways.
