SFist Tonight

REM tribute band Chronic Town plays their first San Francisco show this summer, at the Blackthorn Tavern (834 Irving Street, between 9th and 10th Avenues).

As they say on their site, " If you wish you could have seen R.E.M. back in the day when they played small clubs, come check out Chronic Town at their next show." Well, we don't know about that, but we do know that they always show us a brilliantly post-ironic time.

Doors open at 9:30 (the band'll go on around 10), and admission is free.
