SFist Tonight

poets11logo.gifLet's get it on! ARTworkSF brings us their annual One Night Stand: The Pleasure Zone tonight at
SOMARTS Cultural Center
(934 Brannan St at 9th) from 5-9. "A single evening of performances and art in celebration of the human body and an exploration of sexuality through NUDE, EROTIC and FETISH imagery and themes", all proceeds from the event go to San Francisco Sex Information and the San Francisco Artists Resource Center.

Just as sexy, in a different way: The SFPL's Poets Eleven, "a citywide poetry contest that will include poetry readings at one branch library each month, for eleven months." Submissions will be made by residents of each of the City’s 11 districts, with tonight's District 6 winners' reading kicking off the fun at the spankin' new Mission Bay Branch (960 4th St. at Berry). The fun begins at 6 p.m.

And this isn't tonight -- but it's a good cause -- if you feel like drinking between 1:30-4:30 tomorrow afternoon (who doesn't?), stop by Roe (651 Howard) to have a drink to benefit local resident Tom Yi. All bar and service proceeds during that period will go to help pay the medical bills and support the family of this victim of a freak swimming accident that has left him paralyzed. See the entire story here.
