SFist Blotter

089218414595.jpgHung jury in the Maureen Faibish case -- after two days of deliberation, the jury said there was no way they'd come to any kind of agreement on the case. The final count was 10 in favor of acquittal and 2 for a guilty verdict on felony child endangerment (and 7-5 on misdemeanor child endangerment).

A woman in her car was killed today as a wall on a demolition site collapsed on her car. Yipes. The wall was part of the former El Rancho supermarket. The wall also snapped a power pole, which fell right in front of a van carrying eight physically disabled children -- while rubble from the wall tore off the back of the van too. Everyone in the van is okay.

And we're bypassing articles about the Dyleski trial and murders in Oakland to tell you about a man who shut down the tiny airstrip in Novato after his lawn mower accidentally set a grass fire. "I looked over my shoulder, and there was a smoldering fire," the man said. "Thank goodness I carry a fire extinguisher on the tractor."
