These sniper attacks never make us feel very secure, even if it is only paintball -- over the last month, 10 people (and a dog) have been hit by paintballs throughout the City of Berkeley. No one's been seriously hurt yet, but some people's clothes were damaged, some people almost got in car accidents, and one kid was hit in the cheek (the reports are silent as to the state of the dog.)
It's like the week of the killer MUNI buses! A woman down in Balboa Park last night, the woman hit last week at Kearny and Jackson died, and a biker not paying attention (possibly because of an iPod) accidentally turned left into the path of an oncoming MUNI train last weekend. And doing its part, yesterday Caltrain broke the arm of a guy not paying attention as he walked on the tracks (that guy is luckiest man alive; the conductor was blowing the horn but the guy didn't move.)
And it's officially the kickoff to the November gubernatorial race -- Arnold Schwarzenegger's dinner with George H.W. Bush in Hillsborough last night was scheduled for protesting, including a plane dragging a banner that says "Air Force 89," to encourage you to vote yes on the clean money proposition. Meanwhile, Phil Angelides's car was rear-ended on I-80 coming back from a meeting with Gavin Newsom.

I was hit in the head with one on Market St. last month. Thought it was a rock until I felt goo running down my head in the midst of my hair. Great conditioner.
