We were going to blame our missed post on Hurricane, Tropical Storm, Summer Shower Albert, but you see how that went, so we have to level with you. We were in Orlando last week on business, holed up in another convention center, this time without a laptop. We were supposed to be sharing one with someone from work, but if you've ever had to do that, or if you've ever had siblings, you know how well the sharing thing goes with something as valuable as that. ˙In any event, this absence meant that when we went to visit all our lovely SF blogs, well. . . there were quite a few. So, in the spirit of misanthropy towards all of blogdom and its never-ending torrent of text, our first link this week will be to le blog exuberance. Then, after we've ended poverty, we'll need somewhere to go to unwind. May we suggest the Santa Cruz mountains? And then, rested and refreshed, we're back into blogging.
And since we're back, we should mention Christine, who's off writing in a fabulous oak cottage in the upper Pacific Northwest, when she's not trying to find out why she's suddenly very ill. The pretty oak cottage she gets to stay in made us totally jealous, though, as does Christina's totally tidy desk. Go ahead, e-mail her gnome. You think that was random? Check out Tom's Random Flickr Blogging--they're nice little fugues on random flickr images. That one's a nice meditation on an EKG screen, and the resultant anxiety surrounding it.
But, if you're still ambivalent about the whole thing, you can leave again. DDT, formerly of The Painted Ground of San Jose Avenue has just moved to new digs in Portland, Ore. We know we probably shouldn't link to that site, as it's not technically about SF anymore, but go on over and let 'em know we miss 'em, all right? Meanwhile, TAFKAYELRA has taken over the Ave., and goes birdwatching. And if you don't want to go that far out of town, you can just check out Telstar Logistics' flickr feed of all things Bay Bridge. Especially nice are the ones of the new construction taken from a sail boat. And if you can't even bear the thought of going that far from the city, well, just go on a bus ride.
