So the headline on SFGate.com is "Why Was Sleeping Man Slain?" and the description of the article says "A 26-year-old is sought in the slaying of a man he found sleeping on his ex-girlfriend's couch." SFGate, you've answered your own question!

Jackass gone bad -- a fun-loving Vacaville 23-year-old jumped on the back of a vacuum truck parked in the lot of a bowling alley early Sunday morning, and was holding on as the truck accelerated. Unfortunately, the truck then accelerated to 70 mph as it merged onto I-80, where the hitcher fell off and was hit by (yikes) "three or four vehicles." He was pronounced dead on the scene.

Our commute down Bush Street on early Saturday afternoon was rudely interrupted by a man who decided to hole himself up in his apartment with a gun and threaten to kill himself, necessitating the cops to close down Bush Street between Franklin and Gough. They eventually talked him out of the house, with no injury to anyone -- but not before we were late meeting our buddy for lunch. Thanks a lot, man with the gun! (Caveat: we at SFist are glad he and other bystanders are safe. But still! It was very inconvenient!)
