SFist Watches: TV Finales Tonight

sutro_sunset.jpg
For everything, there is a season...

Last week, the ultimate fact that all things come to an end was made obvious in the most painful way it can be, with the loss of a loved one. In the past week, reflections have been made and tears have been shed. This week the task of confronting the day-to-day grind of life, but with a noticeable void, has begun.

And if you thought the previous paragraph was going to segue into some sarcastic comment about the series finale of “The West Wing," sorry to disappoint. The above was a moment of complete sincerity. And so is this one: Grandma, I miss you.

With that said, let us go back to the collective, snarky voice we all so loathe love, and discuss endings of another kind. Season endings. And what this evening has to offer us.

Actually, not much we actually want to watch, as it turns out. Last night "Grey's Anatomy" went out with a bang and a whimper (and if you'd like to discuss the utter ickiness that is Meredith and McDreamy, please feel free to do so in the comments), and we need a break from the bloated finales, at least for a day. But if you're so inclined, here's tonight's line-up.

"Scrubs," a series we're sure we'd love, if we'd just take the time to catch up with several years worth of re-runs, ends its season with a one-hour episode at 9 p.m. on NBC.

"Law & Order: SVU," AKA a "Law & Order" that does NOT star Vincent D'Onofrio, and therefore holds no interest for us, finalizes at 10 p.m. on NBC.

"NCIS" and "The Unit," two shows we never watched, and truth be told, we kind of thought were the SAME show, also air finales tonight, at 8 p.m. and 9 p.m., respectively, on CBS.

ABC's big finale is "Boston Legal" with a two-hour episode starting at 9 p.m. And despite the presense of Parker Posey, James Spader, and William Shatner in the cast, we just can't bring ourselves to watch.

We'll be back tomorrow, with some finales we actually DO want to watch.

great post rain, sincere bits and all. I havent seen a single entire show of which you speak, but am ever so curious about Greys anatomy since the vajayjay comment was made and heard round the world.

Law & Order SVU is the best of the L&Os because it's got Christopher Meloni!! Stabler, baby!! The finale was pretty eh, though.

House finale next Tuesday. Should be rockin'. I loves me some House.
