Why do we whine about Le Rouge et Noir? It is actually the color scheme of Ten, a place that performed the opposite trick than that thing we cannot call cheese: It got us in a happy mood. Ten is a Japanese restaurant with some Korean hints here and there, and the waitresses wear red and the sushi chefs wear black, and the walls are a deep burgundy hue, and the table a dark, almost black wood. Add to the red and black decor a loungy beat soundtrack and a vertical rack of flat tv screens looping manga-ish cartoons, and you end up in a trendy edgy place, a place where you definitely won't find ataraxy, a place that --strictly based on decor-- would be better named Sanctuary or Catacomb than Ten, which is Japanese for heaven.
