Food Blogger Roundup
Any post that starts "I'm in a light, summery mood today," in spite of the weather, well, that deserves to lead off the round-up this week. The rain's affecting everyone, including Cookiecrumb up in Marin, so we can only imagine the impact this is having on larger farmers and growers. For us, when the weather gets too awful, we always like tea. We like the steam and sweets and the way it makes us feel all cozy. So now, thanks to Shuna, we're returning the favor.
Other people have taken up drastic measures to escape the rain, up to and including escaping San Francisco totally. You'll have to excuse us, Sara, if we didn't realize International Ultimate Frisbee was that big a deal, but good luck! On the other hand we are absolutely, positively, mind-bendingly jealous of Gordonzola's upcoming cheese vacation to Vermont.
Truth be told, your bold SFist correspondent has been in Las Vegas the past week, trapped in the basement of a very large convention center, existing solely on blogs and an awful food court. (Cheese fries are not optimal food, as we're sure you'll agree.) While we stare at computer terminals and deal with snarky exhibitors, we've enjoyed reading about all the good food we're missing, and the near-disaster dinner parties that turned out just fine.
For the holidays Chronicles in Culinary Curiosity takes a staggeringly thorough look at Peeps, while Sugar Savvy discusses Easter and Passover candy. The Easter link is one of an ongoing series where she tastes and reviews every single chocolate offered by See's Candy. Faith, how have we gotten on this long without you?
Now that we know, though, we have to pay more attention to these posts. Who would have thought that as we obsessed and blogged over food we might have to watch our weight?
Finally, Tea confesses to blog guilt during a trip to the SF Ferry Building Farmer's Market in a post that takes some interesting turns.
