Food Blogger Roundup

Recipe Books - 4-8-06.jpgIn the excellent William Gibson novel Pattern Recognition, the main character has a panic attack every time she is confronted with the image of Bibendum, the Michelin Man. we don't really blame her, the early pics of him were pretty, well, not pretty. In that vein, we can only imagine the plotzing that's going on in some of the Bay Area's finest kitchens following the announcement that the revered Michelin Guide has chosen to focus on the Bay Area for its second guide to an American locale. It's almost enough to make the Chronicle's list of the Bay Area's Top 100 Restaurants a little moot, but our plucky Chron is soldiering on, ramping up its food coverage. Bay Area Bites has some insight into the Chron's list, Confessions of a Restaurant Whore considers the list in relation to the Michelin Guide and Bacon Press casts his porcine eye to the future and speculates on who Michelin will love or snub. Meanwhile, Ellen is just looking for a little love from Diablo magazine.

Celeste Heiter over at Chopstick Cinema takes us a little further afield, focusing this month on food related to the film Memoirs of a Geisha. We found her post on how to stock a Japanese pantry incredibly helpful.

Growing up we loved Easter for the two eggs it blessed us with: Deviled and Cadbury, but those of us who celebrate Passover will probably find this post about how to cook up those extra radishes like potato chips more helpful. If you want to find potato chips in any other flavor, check here.

Really quickly now: Dueling asparagus, the cheese course and cookies for dessert!

That leaves us with enough time to point out that Mary Ladd wins for Most Oddball Blog Story this week.
