Stuff To Do If You're Bored

working title.jpg Saturday:We're hitting the San Francisco Peoples’ Organization “Auctions Off Downtown" event at 111 Minna. There'll be live music, film screenings, and the aforementioned auction with Matt Gonzalez taking the auctioneer's podium. This we've got to see! It all starts at 7:30.

Sunday:We'll be at the SF MOMA's Wattis Theater for the 2 p.m. screening of local filmmaker Philip Lane's 55-minute documentary Working Title, a movie about "career, art, and identity in America".

Monday: We're getting the scoop on Barry Bonds' alleged steriod use at A Clean Well-Lighted Place for Books at 7 tonight, as Mark Fainaru-Wada and Lance Williams will be there to read from and discuss their controversial book Game of Shadows.

Tuesday:It's Net Tuesday! Hit the Varnish gallery and bar (77 Natoma St) by 6 p.m. to hear Zack Rosen, Tara Hunt, Adam Frey talk about the ways they're "remixing the Internet for social change."

Don't forget the Alternative Press Expo is also happening this weekend. http://www.comic-con.org/ape/

Lots of cool indie artists, bookmakers, and comic creators will be there; including some local favs like Ted Naifeh (Courtney Crumrin & the Night Things) and Laurenn McCubbin (Rent Girl).
