When The Lights Go Down In The City
Now that Noise Pop is over, things are settling down at live music venues across the city, and we miss it a little.
Our highlights from the festival included Feist at Bimbo's, Britt Daniel at Swedish American, Two Gallants at Bimbo's, the David Dondero and Craig Wedren show at The Knockout, and seeing old friends and making new ones. Feist's performance at Bimbo's, which SFist Emily posted a vibrant review of last week, was one of the best shows we've ever seen. Feist rocks you with the sexiest minimalism you'll ever experience. Swedish American Hall was the perfect place to see Britt Daniel perform solo. Accompanied by just his electric guitar and occasional backing tracks on a CD boombox, the quiet atmosphere let his signature "ow", "aw-huh" and "awright"s ring through the venue. Getting to see Craig Wedren was a true treat, especially when he performed some Shudder To Think songs ("Hit Liquor!") (Image of JV and Britt by Julie Schuchard.)
No giveaway this week, but if you want to click on something, go add SFist as your friend on MySpace.
