Your Commute: Cows on the Highway

RoadKill.jpgAfter yesterday morning's commute clusterf---, we got a ride home only to get stuck in traffic. Which was great. Especially after we discovered the cause of the traffic jam: spilled cow parts. Turns out a truck carrying cow parts northbound on 101 had a spill and up to ten cow torsos went crashing onto the highway. Traffic was caused not only by cars trying to get around the hunks o' meat, but because every car was slowing down to do some gawking and wonder "what the hell?"

It was, in a word, iyick.

Also, in food related traffic jams, a traffic jam was caused on 880 yesterday when a truck carrying wine toppled near I-880, forcing a three hour closure on the West Winton on-and-off ramp. Nobody was hurt, but wine was spilled. Considering the other traffic jam, we hope it was at least red wine. No word, however, on whether or not after spilling the wine, the truck driver was also able to take that pearl.
