According to DataQuick, January's sales dropped 20% from their pace in January 2005, although the average price paid for a home was up 12.9% from the year-ago at $628,000, and the average price paid for a condo jumped 15.8% to $475,000. However, SFist noticed that sales slowed down from December 2005, the median's down from November's high of $656,000, and both San Francisco and Marin counties saw tiny, single-digit price gains over January 2005.
