SFist Reads
Unlike the %12 of our poll respondents, we never get around to reading our free 7X7. That was until we were talking to a friend and realized that we would read it -- if we moved all our copies into the bathroom! Excitedly announcing this to our companion, he responded "I do all my best reading in the bathroom." While we don't lug our online reserves or local independent bookstore purchases into the can, we do think that the toilet is the perfect place to consume the bite-sized and pleasantly skimmable. How about you?
Expectant SFist Ced is refreshing What to Expect, the First Year, if you get his drift. Yeah!!!
SFist Derrick is reading through Oaxaca Journal by Oliver Sacks, which SFist Photographer Melissa bought him for his birthday last year. It's the famous neurologist's journal of a weeklong trip to Oaxaca with the American Fern Society, and is chock full of the erudite knowledge and great writing that Derrick has come to expect of Sacks.
SFist Violet is reading The Queer Encyclopedia of Film and Television, and it reads only like a slightly kinder, gentler Hollywood Babylon. It's addictive to read all the who's-who about who was secretly gay when and it makes me want to sit with Netflix and the book and go "shopping".
