Because it's still Thursday in Hawaii.
The last cover feature by Ann Harrison in the Bay Guardian was the kind of thing you save for a long bus ride to or from the Avenues. Ann had been covering the story of the medical marijuana movement in California for years, and in her investigation into the cycle production and eradication in the Emerald Triangle did the kind of work only a journalist with a serious investment in background research can provide.
But you don't have to wait until the Guardian can cough up enough dough to pay for such coverage. Thanks to the encouragement of Hempevolution's Clark Sullivan, Ann started writing a blog. We've linked to it repeatedly in the past, but with the recent arrest of Prop 215 co-author Steve Kubby thought that it would be a good time to tune in to her coverage in the blogosphere and beyond.
The blog's title, "On The Record," speaks to a decision she's made only to quote sources who are willing to give their names to the article. It's a dose of journalistic reality that the we here in the read-write web all could use. See, we bloggers respect the craft and are willing to learn -- we just need more professionals to come lead by example. We'll help y'all with the technical stuff, promise.
