When The Lights Go Down In The City

Our concert picks for the week of 2/2 - 2/8.

Last night when we were at the California Homegrown Music Series presented by DJ Ted at Mezzanine, we couldn't help being proud of the local music scene here in San Francisco. Ted spun his always supremely curated tunes to the crowd (happy 3rd birthday, Bagel Radio!), Birdmonster readied their gear onstage for a powerful set, friends and fellow music writers milled through the venue, and we even ran into our talented friend Ted from The Heavenly States.

Hijack the DiscoCatch some great local music yourself this Saturday at Bottom of the Hill when Hijack the Disco plays with Tartufi and Scissors for Lefty. Word of mouth is spreading about Hijack the Disco's live show and they're currently in the studio working on more recordings. Listen to their music and enter to win two spots on their guest list to see their show this Saturday. (Winner will be notified via email by 5pm on Friday.)
