What's That Smell?

dig_sm5.gif
We've had two gas leaks reported in the City today, one of them genuine, one not, none directly attributed to the sudden spike in brussels sprouts consumption after this week's fantastic SFist In The Kitchen.

4 blocks in the Haight were closed this morning, due to a nicked gas line.

A second leak reported at 6th and Mission was determined to be a false alarm. Though that block is notorious for funky smells, today's was blessedly innocuous.

We kid, but smelling gas is no laughing matter. This link is a handy reference on gas smells in your home, but PG&E recommends that if you have any doubts, get everyone out of the area and call 911. Or just take this.
