There is nothing -- we mean, nothing -- opening today. But it's a long holiday weekend, and we'll bet you'll get in the mood to go see something, right?
Before you to head to the Metreon and stand there agape at your big budget options, take a look at our handy list of all our favorite local theatres below. Instead of just giving up and seeing Rumor Has It, why not take a look at what they're screening?
The Parkway
The Castro (Saturday Night Fever, Moulin Rouge, and 9 to 5!)
The Roxie
The Balboa
The Red Vic
The 4 Star
The Presidio (We highly recommend Syriana, it's the feel good holiday film of 2005. OK, not really. But it's good.)
What are you going to go see this weekend? What are you looking forward to seeing in 2006? Let us know in the comments!

thank you for this public service
if you steered even one person away from that Anistdisaster, "Rumor Has It," you have done the Lord's work this week.
Thank you!
:-)
huh? no mention for the classic Bridge theater (yes, spelled in american english)? Transamerica is the "feel good holiday movie of the year."
Actually, they call themselves the Bridge Theatre (if you're going to get picky), but I chose to make this a list of locally-owned and operated theatres, not national chain cinemas. The Bridge is part of the national Landmark Theatres (oh dear, there's that spelling again) chain.
oh. thenks.
