SFist Watches: Movies This Weekend

Wow, it's a massive weekend for movies, as studios do their best to present us with ways to escape familial holiday stress.
We hate to do this, but as there are so many great new films opening this weekend, we suggest you take a look at the Chron's New Flicks page, (as long as you promise not to take any of the reviews even remotely seriously) to make sure you don't miss any of the great new releases out there.
Image from Wolf Creek, which opens at the Metreon, Kabuki, and 1000 Van Ness on December 25. What beter way to celebrate the holidays than with torture and murder?
The brilliant and odd Mirrormask is playing Friday and Monday at the Red Vic, which is closed Saturday and Sunday. If you missed it when it first played San rancisco, here's your change to experience this strange and beautiful film.
The Castro is also not screening films Saturday and Sunday, but monday they'll be showing a great Busby Berkeley musical double-feature of Babes on Broadway and For Me and My Gal, both of which star the great Judy Garland. Most of our Busby Berkeley experiences have happened on the small screen, so we're really looking forward to seeing them on the kind of screen they were intended for.
All of our readers are so cool that they're already over the Chronic of Narnia Rap, but we're not that evolved and keep watching that sketch again and again. It's put us in the mood to see the film it's honoring, and what better place to do that than the Balboa? Turkish delight will not be sold at the concession stand, but they do pop a mean corn.
How about you? Staying in, or going to the theater? What's your fancy? Tell us in the comments!
