This is a pretty boring week for TV. The only thing we're even halfway excited about is something Rita mentioned last week: There are some new episodes of "Animal Cops San Francisco" airing this week on Animal Planet. You can catch two episodes tomorrow at 6 p.m. and 7 p.m.
There are also a few reality show season finales this week, but we can't seem to muster any enthusiasm for those. At 9 p.m. tonight is the two-hour finale of "The Amazing Race: Family Edition" and the only good thing we can say about that is thank god this disaster of a season is finally coming to an end. We had our doubts about the idea of a "family edition" of TAR from the very beginning, but being that it's one of our favorite reality shows, we gave it a chance. And hated it. This show, which is normally about a frantic race around the world, never even left the continent of North America this time around, and instead had its families visit a variety of roadside attractions around America. Now, don't get us wrong. We LOVE us some roadside attractions. But watching people climb the world's largest office chair does not make for exciting TV viewing. So, we welcome the end of this disastrous season. And as hard as the Weavers have been praying to God to help them find the right road, a parking place, some take-out food, or a spot on the map this season, we will be praying that those hypocritical "Christians" find themselves with bupkiss by race's end.

Also ending its season this week is "The Apprentice" this Thursday at 9 p.m., and for once we think that both of the contenders are worthy. Randal, who had to deal with the death of his grandmother early in the show's season, has proven to be one of the smartest and level-headed contenders in the show's history. However, he has made some stupid mistakes in the past (remember when he got the channel number for the XM station wrong during a presentation?) and last week's episode made it look like his disregard for any rainy day alternatives for his big baseball benefit may prove to be his downfall.
Rebecca has spent the majority of the season on crutches after she broke her foot during one of the team "rewards." (Being forced to play hockey against professional players is no reward we'd ever want to be a part of.) But we were impressed by how she didn't use her crutches as...err..a crutch during the season, and for the most part played the game better than most of the other contenders. While she seems to be a little preoccupied with purple furniture for her Yahoo! comedy benefit, so far she seems to be handling the challenge well.
But we're still rooting for Randal. There's just something about Rebecca's red cheeks and Spock-ish eyebrows we don't trust.
