Wednesdays, The New Wednesdays
![]()
Check out this hook while my Wednesday revolves it! Today: The Del Sol string quartet performs pieces by female Korean composer Hyo-Shin Na at the Main Library today at 2. Na will be there to introduce the pieces. We're partial to Del Sol and their 20th-21st century stylings (they played this correspondent's wedding), so go check 'em out!
Thursday: Oklahoma..... OK! The SF Jewish Community Center's holding its annual Great Broadway Singalong at 8 p.m. Lyrics sheets will be provided. $24/$15 for students. Or, at the other end of the city, pick up your poinsettas and festive door wreaths at City College's annual plant sale (.pdf) from 11-3 at the Horticulture Center of the Ocean Avenue campus (Judson at Phelan). All money raised goes back to the department for scholarships.
and Friday: Do you love beautifully-letterpressed type? Maybe you'll see fontophile SFist Cheshire at the SF Center for the Book's opening reception for the Pacific Center for the Book Arts' Calendar exhibition. Extra bonuses: handmade calendars for 2006 will be on sale too! Show starts at 6, and it's free.
