SFist Watches: TV Tonight

WHY?.jpg
We were going to make this post short and simple: Watch "Arrested Development tonight, dammit!" But we realized that while we've made frequent pleas for that in the past, the show's demise still seems imminent. Our powers of TV-viewing persuasion aren't as strong as we'd thought.

So, in addition to urging you to watch "AD" tonight at 8 p.m. on Fox, we'd also like to suggest that you go out and purchase seasons one and two on DVD (buy both at Amazon, and get 10 bucks off), because money talks more than whining from fans. We recently started rewatching our set, and were blown away, again, by just how funny the show has been, from the very beginning. And while we understand that the series is quite convoluted, we're not talking about "Alias" here. Of course, viewing the show from the beginning means you get some of the subtler jokes, but we think watching a giant mole and a rocket man colliding over a miniature town in front of an audience of mortified Japanese businessmen who are aching with embarrassment is funny no matter how many previous episodes you've seen.

"AD" doesn't appear to be on Fox's schedule for January. Consider December's episodes a gift from the Scrooge network. And if you want to do something really futile, you might consider sending the studio some protests letters. Try the publicity department, since they're the ones who have really dropped the ball with promotion of the show.
