Crabby Peace in Our Times

At last! The wait is over for those eager for crab season to manifest itself on their plates. Jeez, we write about crab a lot -- and that's not even counting Crazy Crab!

As reported earlier, fishermen and processors had been unable to agree on per pound pricing until this past Saturday, when "the two groups agreed on a price of $1.75 a pound and more than 100 commercial boats went to sea from San Francisco, Half Moon Bay and Bodega Bay." (from the Chron.)

This makes their retail price around $6.75 per pound, though we know that SFist Jackson saw some deep discounts in his neighborhood last year. How much is crab going for in your local market? Have you had a chance to dig into any of this year's catch?
