SFist Watches: Movies This Weekend

We got to see an advance screening of Donal Logue's Tennis, Anyone...?, and liked it enough that we're going to tell you to go over to Berkeley's Act 1&2 to see it. Reminiscent of the indie classic Bottle Rocket, this semi-autobiographical film (written, directed, and starring Logue) details the small failures and triumphs of two slightly successful actors. We'll be interviewing Logue next week, so see the movie now so you know what the hell we're talking about.

Did you know that Bevan Dufty is Gloria Swanson's stepson? Do you think he ever says "I am big. It's District 8 that got small"? (Yeah, we're sure he's never heard that joke before.) Well, we're ashamed to say that we had no idea, until we got a release for Sunday's West Coast Premiere Revival Screening of Beyond the Rocks, the only film that Rudolph Valentino and Gloria Swanson made together. Dufty (he seems so much more interesting to us now -- such is the cult of celebrity, we suppose) will introduce the 2 p.m. show.

The Third San Francisco International South Asian Film Festival opens tonight at the Little Roxie, and screens films tomorrow at the Castro and the Roxie on Sunday. We'll be taking in some of the shows, and you should, too -- the schedule is here.

How about you? What are you going to go see this weekend? Let us know in the coments!
