When The Lights Go Down In The City
Our concert picks for the week of 11/10-11/16.
It's another great week of music, with more of our favorites in town including Stars, The Oranges Band, our beloved Spoon and one of our newest favorites Silversun Pickups. Weeks ago we were offered review tickets to write up Sunday night's Death Cab For Cutie show, but we were just told that Atlantic Records had to "cut their press list" and our tickets were revoked. Folks, that's really just a euphemism for "someone more important wants your tickets." So, DCFC, we're real disappointed to find out that your new fancypants record label hates bloggers. But when you have "The OC" on your side, who needs the -ists?
The indie label that Death Cab left, Barsuk Records, does actually appreciate SFist readers. Their artist Aqueduct, a.k.a. David Terry, recently released I Sold Gold, a witty bedroom pop album packed with keyboards, pianos, drum machines and sunny melodies.
