Bay Area Blog Pulse

We've got a crapload to cover. We'll try to keep it short...
Just when the media coverage is focused on the election, Om Malik says San Francisco is moving ahead with citywide wifi. Meanwhile, down on the peninsula, Yahoo fires a battery of snark over Google's bow, while Eric Schmidt's colleague compares him to Darth Vader. Niall Kennedy lists his favorite podcasts, including tech, media and music offerings. And an enterprising Oaklander is driving to Argentina in a Volkswagen running on vegetable oil and biodiesel.
Matt Lanning laments the opening of a new Bayshore Home Depot. Treasure Island reborn? So hope SF Cityscape and Adventures in Urban Living's Jamison. But it looks like South Bay sporting life is taking a hit, with the imminent shuttering of Bay Meadows and Phillip "The Examiner, Worldwide, Inc." Anschutz' San Jose Earthquakes maybe leaving town. We especially feel Ginevra's pain looking for a place to live in The City.
Jason Schultz gloats just a little over Arnold having trouble voting for himself with the new electronic voting system -- Chris Lopez is a bit more restrained, but links to the story nonetheless. If you're in the gloating mood, looks like class action victim Netflix poured $750,000 into campaigning for Arnold's props in the special election. And The WOW Report feels it necessary to introduce the Little Prince [NSFW].
