SFist Watches: TV This Week

Happy Halloween all you tube boobs! We sort of covered scary TV last week, so if you haven't burned your retinas watching "Breaking Bonaduce," (his jerkdom burns with the intensity of 1,000 suns!), and you still want to spend Halloween watching something scary, we suggest turning on Turner Classic Movies and calling it a day. They've got all the creepiness you need on this All Hallow's Eve.

Other than that, this week is a pretty dead one (pun intended!) when it comes to television treats. Most of the networks and cable channels have been hoarding their good stuff these past couple of weeks, inundating us with reruns and other crap instead, all in preparation for November sweeps, which starts next week.

"The Boondocks", which premieres Sunday night at 11 p.m. on the Cartoon Network, is one of those saved-for-sweeps shows. Fans of Aaron McGruder's comic strip probably already know about the strip's bumpy road to the small screen. In development for several years, with hopes of a primetime spot on the Fox network who eventually passed on the pilot, the show ultimately found a home on Cartoon Network's Adult Swim. We think this is probably a good move for the series. Anyone who's ever watched any of those Adult Swim cartoons (we're partial to "Aqua Teen Hunger Force") knows that they get away with a lot more than a network would ever allow. (The fact that Fox blurred images of naked butts on "Family Guy" is proof enough of that.) For further proof, be sure to check out the preview clips currently available on the official "Boondocks" show site.

And really, that's all we can recommend this week. How scary is that?
