Stuff To Do If You're Bored

Friday: Sometimes, we want free wine, and it seems like too much work to go to church. Virgin Vines is helping us scratch that itch tonight with a wine tasting event at Potrero Hill's Il Parata from 6-7 tonight, then again at North Beach's Bocce Cafe from 8:30-9:30 (that portion of the event's been cancelled, which is fine because North Beach on a Friday night is best left to the heartier than we). Parking's easier in Potrero, so we're likely to slug down our screw-top vino sample then head over the bridge for the 8:30 p.m. Asphalt Shorts III, a series of urban-themed short films projected against the wall of the Starpark Parking Lot at Broadway between 21st and 22nd Street in Oakland.
Saturday: We're hanging out with our pal Mike at the Potrero Hill Festival at the Potrero Hill Neighborhood House (953 De Haro Street @ Southern Heights). There's a pancake breakfast from 9- 11am and the street festival runs from 10-5. And that night we're going to play some Tombstone Hold 'Em as part of the Graveyard Games.
Sunday: we're going to the Live Music Task Force show from 12-4 at Yerba Buena. The Task Force's mission is to "advance live music as a cultural and educational influence, as a worthwhile medium of entertainment, and as an integral part of public events and celebrations."
Monday: We can't even lie and say we're going to the StarChefs .com Rising Stars Revue, because we know you're not gonna believe we'd pay 100 bucks a ticket, even if it's to take part in a "walk-around gala tasting featuring the Rising Star Chefs' signature dishes, wine pairings, fine Champagne, exciting cocktails and live music." But maybe you have that kind of dough and can make it to Teatro ZinZanni at 7 that night. If so, can we borrow some?
Tuesday: Good lord do you people ever stay at home? Well, we do because our TiVo and VCR combo set-up still doesn't cover everything we want to watch, so we're gonna sit on the couch and watch "My Name is Earl". TiVo went off and recorded it on its own for us once, and we have fallen in love (just not in enough love to reorganize our Season Passes). Earl, you had us at "It Takes Two."
