SFist Watches: Movies This Weekend

If we hadn't already spooged all over Dead and Breakfast at the Balboa this weekend in its own column, this is where we'd be doing it. Love for the zombie musical aside, there are plenty of other movies to see this weekend.

What do you think about The Brothers Grimm? We keep feeling like we should be more excited than we are about it than we are. Is it us, or them? If you go see it at any of our Local Metroplexes, let us know what you think.

We're thrilled to see one of the two companion pieces to Oldboy hit local screens with the opening of Sympathy for Mr. Vengance, but were miserable to see that it's playing at the Opera Plaza Theater, a setting we despise so much we refuse to link to it. Landmark, whqat the hell are you thinking? Please screen this movie elsewhere, for it does not deserve to be shown in a theater slightly smaller than the closet where we keep the cat carriers and winter coats.

Instead, go see One Night in Mongkok (yes, we know that "sometimes, you're better off dead/with a gun in your hand and it's pointing at your head. This is different.), over at the Presidio, which Rain will tell you is a mere shadow of its former glory, but still better than the OP. Mongkok is Hong Kong action at its finest, with a breathtakingly complex plot, teriffic acting, and, or course, total ass-kickery.

How about you? What's in the movie-going cards for you this weekend? Let us know in the comments.
