John English, the Fairfield councilman who was found with meth and meth paraphernalia in his suitcase, was sentenced 30 days in jail and 4 years probation. He originally claimed that the drugs and pipe were his nephew's, but the nephew later recanted the story. Tests later showed Councilman English's DNA on the pipe. English is now claiming that his nephew thought it was a reality TV setup (ah yes, that new show, "America's Top Meth Heads").
A 15-year-old girl in Milpitas is in a heap of trouble after she confessed that she'd made up a story about being kidnapped by a group of men who tried to sexually assault her, when she was in fact partying across California and Mexico for six weeks. She said she didn't want her mother to know, so she made up the story about being kidnapped when she ran out of cash in Puerto Vallarta.
And a guy in San Jose just got charged in federal court, after he attacked two Secret Service agents who happened to be at a Nordstrom Rack store and called him on a fake check he was attempting to pass. When the agents confronted him, the guy bit one agent and kicked the other one in the head. The authorities say he might have been on meth.
