SFist Cares ... About Unmentionables for the Homeless

If you're reading this chances are you aren't down working at Project Homless Connect 6 at the Bill Graham Civic Auditorium. It's okay though, we're not going to get on your case. It's not like this is the guilt column or anything. Instead, check this out ...

On August 20th NextArts will be holding a benefit concert, called "Sock It To Me: Acoustic in La Raza Park!", from noon to 6pm in La Raza Park. Admission is free but they'll be asking for socks and underwear (new one with tags!) or a donation of $5. The clothing collected will be distributed via Project Homeless Connect. See how that works out? That all seems like a pretty painless way to do something good, doesn't it?

The featured bands are: LUCE, Garrin Benfield, The Heather Combs Band, Corrine West, The Bittersweets and The San Carlos Project. They will also be displaying art from members of ARTwork.

La Raza Park is near the corner of 26th and Potrero. Please see their FAQ for more information.

And don't forget that Project Homeless Connect is always looking for volunteers. The next one is on Oct 13th.
