SFist Blotter
Special "SFist Rita is out of town, so bear with us" edition.
So sad. The San Leandro police department is on the hunt for one Irving "Gotti" Ramirez of Newark who is suspected of killing a SLPD officer. The officer was responding to a complaint about noisy loiterers when Ramirez and an accomplice allegedly drove up in a Thunderbird and shot him in the head. The officer, a three year veteran, leaves behind a wife and child. The car has been found, but the search for Ramirez continues.
We're not sure which gets you into hell faster -- killing a cop or setting a dog on fire. That's right, some d**khead set a pit bull on fire Sunday in the Bayview. The dog was found by an Animal Care and Control officer after it had started a grass fire in a vacant lot. The one-year-old female pit is recovering and in stable condition. Anyone with information is urged to call 554-9400.
Charles Peralta and Nicole Agriesti could be facing much more than just assault charges after allegedly yelling racial epithets while beating Xochitl Calderon in Morgan Hill last Thursday. The altercation started when Calderon asked them to pay her back for a bag of groceries they'd run over. The suspects are accused of kicking and punching the woman in the stomach after she screamed that she was pregnant. The matter is being investigated as a hate crime, and the two could be charged with murder if the fetus is miscarried.
Still of injured dog from ABC7.
